8 Block Apparel began as a simple logo design in a classroom setting. Back in 2007 as a struggling artists I knew I needed to add more technical aspects to my artwork. A graphics design class was being offered at a local community college and enrollment didn't look like a bad idea at the time. Classes were launched and creativity took over from there. The classic 8 Block logo was one of my very first projects in my classes.
The idea came from a street nickname that I refer to as home. It reminds me of my roots, where I came from and where we will be destined to soar from here. Over the years the logo has been placed on music, video releases and merchandise to promote whatever creative endeavor we were chasing at the time.
Even though focus may have shifted over the years, that image I could not let go of. I knew then that I needed to incorporate the brand into a bigger name. 8 Block Apparel needed to be brought to life!
